LML Commissioner's Article on Mr. Richey's Nobel Experiment Featured in the Philadelphia Inquirer.

John Lord, LML Commissioner and professor of marketing at St. Joseph's University, was recently invited by the Philadelphia Inquirer to write an article about Branch Richey, the architect of the racial integration of professional baseball. The article was published in the April 8 th addition of the Inquirer.
While Jackie Robinson has always gotten full credit for being the first black professional baseball player, Branch Richey's contributions are not as well known. John Lord's article in the Inquirer brings to light this sometimes forgotten piece of American history.
John teaches a course called "Baseball: Tradition and Business" at St. Joe's and he has recently worked with Philadelphia Phillies chairman, Bill Giles, on his memoirs, which will be published this spring. He can be contacted at jlord@sju.edu
